Gumtree is one of the UK’s largest online classifieds platform serving communities up and down the UK – drawing in over 10 million unique visitors each month. But the community is more than just a postcode, whilst Gumtree helps people buy and sell in their local area, it provides a platform for communities to connect around a life-stage need, past-time, passion or interest.
Following the acquisition of motors.co.uk last year, Gumtree UK has a strong motors proposition and indeed focus for 2020. The combined scale of Gumtree, eBay and Motors.co.uk establish a new competitive landscape which benefits car dealers and the car-buying public through offering more choice and a better product experience. In 2020, Gumtree wanted to prioritise the consumer focus for Gumtree to the Motors FSBO (For Sale by Owner /Private Seller) category.
Gumtree tasked Wooshii to come up with a video strategy and creative ideation to help them tackle this challenge. How can they draw attention to the Gumtree FSBO proposition, and be front of mind for their target audiences who are in-market to buy or sell a car?The gumtree project was a really exciting project to work on. Wooshii had complete creative input from scripting, storyboarding, artistic direction, building a bespoke set and creating unique characters specifically for this campaign.
Wooshii produced a total of 6 videos including 4 cutdowns. With a strong concept, this project was a clear opportunity to create something unique for a major brand. Working with a tight deadline and very creative concept, we knew it would be a challenge. But the whole team delivered, which included a top Director from our Wooshii network and our in-house post-production team
