Today, Amazon shoppers can find what they’re looking for  online and in person. From delivering fresh produce to their doorstep to creating and distributing  movies, music, and more, Amazon is always finding new ways to delight their customers.

The Brief

Amazon was looking to create a series of videos focused on unique and empowering stories that  uplifted the spirits of the viewers and promoted Amazon Alexa. They wanted to create something  similar to Humans of New York, but more focused on video-based storytelling. It was critical that the majority of these did not feel like an ad but were true stories that focused on the lives of the  people first, and Alexa second. 

Due to the vast network of filmmakers Wooshii has across the USA and the Wooshii team’s  creative approach to storytelling, Amazon was compelled to trust in Wooshii. They relied on the  agency, who would walk them through every step of the process and support their vision.

The Production

Amazon is the world’s largest retailer  and undertaking any project from them  ignites a challenge, but the Wooshii  team approached it with the usual  dedication and eagerness. The team  hit the ground running and found an  abundance of wonderful stories. The  expertise of the team allowed them to  pull off a technique that displayed a  story-first video. Wooshii teamed with Motivo Films in  Seattle to help source all cast  members and filmmakers.

The creative  team felt having a sole source for all  shoots was the best approach. Teaming up with Patrick Mason, who  directed each of these shoots, was the  perfect choice. Having a single  directing voice on each shoot ensured  the videos encapsulated the clear  vision of one person, rather than a  collection of voices. Consistency is a  key component at Wooshii, and the  team carried that value alongside them  while shooting.

The Result

Wooshii created thirteen full-length videos, along with several cutdowns. Amazon was committed  to this being a multiplatform release, therefore approximately two hundred exports were created.  Platforms included were: Instagram Facebook Youtube Amazon Bookstores
