YouTube now allows you to upload a 3 second Branded Intro or ‘ident’ to your channel. This intro will appear at the start of all of your channel videos, giving your content polish and a consistent brand feel. If you have a channel and all of your content suits having a intro, it’s easy to add.

It can look something like this:

or like this within Wooshii’s YouTube channel and as a real-life branded intro in action for GoPro (you may need to skip/view an ad first).

How do you get an intro made?
Wooshii can help, we have a community of 10,000 animators and video makers for whom this is a straightforward task. There is no script or storyboard to labour over – only 3 seconds allowed. You post your project on Wooshii for free, set the budget and the marketplace responds with their pitches and portfolios. It is worth specifying in your project title ‘3 SECOND Youtube Channel Ident/ Intro’. Then the community knows it’s a bite-sized task rather than a channel intro trailer or company explainer.

Information about how to load your intro is found at the YouTube Creator Hub, and we have the headline instructions here:

Go to your channel and click on VideoManager

On the left hand navigation click on Channel, then InVideo Programming.

Upload the selected video to Branding Intro, you have the option to upload to all videos or all after a certain date – not as flexible as we’d like, but there you go.
