Studio 8 is a small group of comedians who produce original web programming as well as a variety of promotional series and videos for brands, products, and clients. Recent clients who we%u2019ve produced HD-quality commercials and series for include Intel, AT&T, ComedyCentral, Mozy, MusicShake, Bikini Zone, American Eagle, Cracked.com, SuperDeluxe, and Break.
We also run The New Movement Theater, a critically-acclaimed comedy performance venue/improv and sketch comedy training center in Austin, TX. There, we are training an ever-growing army of comedians to spread our comedic philosophies all over the world in the form of touring shows, festival appearances, and an infinity of other productions.
Our video work has been featured on Comedy Central%u2019s AtomTV (4 times), Oxygen%u2019s Bad Girls Club (2 episodes), G4%u2019s Attack of the Show (twice), YouTube, FunnyorDie, eBaum%u2019s World, CollegeHumor, Cracked, SpikeTV, Revver, Crackle, DailyMotion, StupidVideos, MySpace, Metacafe, and into the darkest, furthest reaches of the internet.
We were also semi-finalists in YouTube%u2019s Sketchies 2 Contest and the 2008 MTV Movie Awards Spoof Contest. Our music video %u201CFuck This City%u201D was a finalist in the 2008 SXSW Click Film Fest and was chosen as an official selection for the 2009 SXSW Film Festival.
Studio 8 has collaborated on projects with various web and TV personalities and groups such as Fred Armisen, Jennette McCurdy, Liam Kyle Sullivan, Tay Zonday, Carson Daly, iJustine, HappySlip, Brookers, and KevJumba.
We have also produced and performed in all kinds of live shows at various festivals %u2013 SXSW, NYC SketchFest, The Montreal Comedy Festival Showcase, Out of Bounds Improv Festival, New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival, The Dirty South Improv Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Frontera Fest, the Del Close Marathon in NYC, and the Phoenix, Chicago, and Toronto Improv Festivals, among many others. Recently, Studio 8 co-produced the first-of-its-kind wildly successful 2009 Air Sex World Championships Tour.
