Bring us Petrol Head Kids
We are a UK based company that produce body kits for cars. We help kids convert their Fiat Punto into a Fiat Pimpo. Think Max Power http://www.maxpower.co.uk/galleries.asp

We specialise in the body kit part. So we don't do car music systems or alloy wheels. More we produce replacement panels for cars to change their appearance.

We have new website about to go live and we want to drive some initial traffic to the site.

Typically our clients are 16 - 25 young men.

If you ad a zero to your budget there are some really cool things you can do.

Cheers

John, I know, we'd all love to see TV budgets, but the brands are not in that position yet. Think about this as working against future relationships - when the brands are ready to spend 4 and 5 figures, you should be right up there on their invitation to tender list!

You have to add two 0's to make it a tv budget.

I can see whaere you are coming from - But I am kind a dipping my toe here a little. If it goes well i guess then I am happy to do it again for more.. but £700 is quite a bit for me to have held up doing nthing whilst I wait for my vid. Cheers guys

You don't have to put it on tv, an internet advertisement can do just as well as a tv one. Sometimes tv ads flop all the time while internet ads sky rocket while saving money publishing it.

I have a great idea for this, I just need to sit down and draw out a style frame for it!

Yep, what I mean is that the Brand is trying out a way to spread his reach but is not in a position to spend £7k or £70k speculatively. Get your viral right, and the brand owner would be silly not to come back to you with a proper budget for future work! Everybody has to take a bit of a punt, business is about taking risks, but calculated ones. For £700, the brand is not expecting a fancy £70k TV campaign, or even a £7000 cheap TV commercial, but is hoping to reach his target demographic in a fresh way instead of just spending money on banner ads. Will it work? Who knows? Business is about taking risks.

Can you make a viral for £700 less commission? Well no, there's no real profit in it, but it's taking a punt, and trusting that the brand will form an affinity with you. However it is cashflow, and you have to trade through the economic climate. If you think smart, you can come up with constructs that aren't too costly to produce at viral production values instead of thinking of big-ticket ideas for what will still always be a niche product. Hey, I have 2 up there, and they're both blinders. Nobody will get paid a full fee, it's impossible, but nobody will lose money on it, and it's all about trading through!

Well I would argue TV ads are no where near as effective as a on-line ad -

On-line ad's can spread - done well they engage the viewer so much that they might actually even pass it on -

TV ads on the other hand (according to Reuters) 90% of people who can will tivo / skip ads

This is really a topic for the forums huh?

Hey there, quick question for Car Jackers:
Are you planning on honoring the deadline or extending? We can make the deadline for sure, it's just we're a little curious if all our work will be in vain if in fact the pitch is extended.

Have a fantastic day,

Beau!

The pitches were all amazing - If possible I may come back to some of you - I don't quite know how that works on here but there are three ideas I was torn between so we may look at running a series - Thanks for everyone's efforts

Hey no problem, you gotta choose.
I do plan on moving ahead with the project very shortly (it's the next project on my to-do list), and if you would like Car Jackers featured let me know soon. It's a rock solid concept, and I'm eager to get it published even if it is its own viral.

All the best,
-Beau

Really disappointed you didn't choose ours. Any chance you can leave a comment on it, or an e-mail?
