Fede Alvarez is a name many of you don't know, but believe me you will for sure in the coming months/years.
A few months back, he uploaded a video to Youtube about about giant robots attacking Montevideo, Uruguay's capital. That video became a viral hit (close to 6 million view by now), and weeks later this news was everywhere: "Youtuber lands to Hollywood contract". Fede Alvarez had just got a production deal with Sam Raimi's production company, how awesome is that?
Of course there was a lot of hard work behind it and many years of hard work in the area (he also directed some commercials, Pepsi being amongst one of the brands he directed for).
So we are honoured to have him as the next PRO interview!
Now you get to submit questions to him for our interview, and the rules are: - post a question here on this thread, or vote - and bare in mind he probably can't talk about projects in development - 10 questions will be selected based on number of votes, and the deadline is April 30th.
What commercial did Federico enjoyed the most doing, and why? (He has som pretty cool ads on the murdoc site) And also (he prolly can't anwser) would he prefer his upcoming movie with Sam Raimi to be spoken in spanish or english?
i'd like to know a little more about the giant robot vid that launched your career... what was your motivation? Inspiration? Who did you work with? How long did it take?
What are some of your influences? What kind of things were you into as a child, like did any of your hobbies then effect what you do now? When did you realize you wanted to get into this type of industry? How did you get started in the industry? Did you just get discovered or did you have internships, preexisting jobs, etc. What other skills do you have that others may not know about? For example do you paint or play an instrument.
