Wooshii members in60seconds have coined the term explanimations… so what is it? They are “explanations in 60 seconds animations”, which pretty much sums up many of the videos that have been done – to date – on Wooshii.
That is a great name! On their own words:
Key role of our video’s is communicating a complex message in a short amount of time. We work according to the ’60 seconds’ principal, which derives from the willingness of people to invest about one minute of their time to receive a message.
We believe in the power of video as a means to convey information effectively. The combination of motion graphics, sound and voice-over makes it possible to communicate a large amount of information in a short time and with high impact. Beside that, people nowadays don’t accept only textual information is presented.
Producing a beautiful and fun “movie” is not our goal. The purpose of the video itself is what concerns us. Therefore we pay much attention to analyzing information, the intended audience and desired impact of the video. The result is a clear story in a measured and attractive visual style appropriate to the message and the underlying organization.
We totally agree on everything. So now they have produced an explanimation… to explane what an explanimation is!
With great design style and great motion graphics, the video is really good, take a look:
