It may slip under the radar sometimes when it comes to online video, but Ikea is one of the top companies using it too.

So far we’ve talked about Google – probably the best example of using online video out there – but also Kickstarter, Etsy, Dropbox, and even some extreme examples. Ikea is another great example.

The IKEA 365 campaign is a very good representative of it: to show diversity of products, they made a video for everyday of the year, for a different product. Take a look:

That is so brilliant, one of the best online video campaigns out there. And important also, good results to back it all up, in top of mind and actual consumers buying furniture.

But that’s just one example, and there are many others.

Another is the Art of Cooking. FIrst, they put out a book with very nicely laid out cooking utensils and ingredients. Then, a beautiful video version of them was made.

Like “Bingo“:

Or “Highway“:

Again, these are such simple ideas and so well put together, that makes them so brilliant. Also, their products are so well integrated with the video that they couldn’t possibly exist without them.

Can’t resist to post another one from this campaign, “Chop chop“:

Oh ok, since you insist, two more! “Place Powder“:

And “Master flip“:

Really, these are so good!

Finally, we’ll talk about how they try to go for viral too. And succeed. Like in the case of “Herding Cats“, where the making of – mind you only online, not on TV – actually got more views (3.1 Million) than the real ad (1.7 Million) that was eventually on TV:

There are so many good examples from this company that we couldn’t possibly show them all here, but from these ones posted here you can get the sense that Ikea bets heavy on online video, and wins, bringing great concepts to reality, with flawless execution and many times extreme simplicity.
