The first time I really noticed an advert was when I was 8. It was a series of print adverts with images of children with old, haggard, aged faces. It was a campaign from Barnado's to raise awareness about child prostitution. These images affected me so much that I tried to actively stop child prostitution, starting in my primary school. I set up a petition and attempted to collect signatures. This was soon stopped. My guess is that parents complained that I was educating their children about...

My guess is that parents complained that I was educating their children about the sex industry, and what the word prostitution meant and involved. And infact what sex is. Something children in my village primary school were oblivious to.
I love the power that advertising has. It can be a very manipulative tool. But it can also facilitate change, educate, inspire, it has the power to evoke emotion, empathy and sympathy and obviously it can sell bucket loads of products. I am fascinated with how it works for these reasons.
I have just completed 2 years of an English language and linguistics degree but am having a slight change of direction. In September I start at the School of Communication Arts 2.0. I can't really believe that it is actually happening and have had to hire my flatmate to pinch me on regular occassions to check this is all really happening.
I like dystopian literature, hip hop, Beyonce, condiments, conceptual art, imagination and tea. I also like advertising.

Unfortunately no. I wanted to so bad but I could not get funding to go. Family is not wealthy. I know I was driving around all day and only one arm got burned! it looks so weird haha! My website has a lot of work to go through. Here is some of my art though.

I'm sorry to hear that you cannot come. I am seriously concerned about funding. I too do not have a wealthy family. I am on a full scholarship so I don't have to worry about fees...but I am really concerned about living expenses. Likely ways to pay for accommodation are selling my vital organs on the black market or selling my body in the red light district...
I love your sculptures on your site. I love sculpture. I am a huge fan of Lynn Chadwick and much of the work that is produced at/by the Pangolin foundry.
